![]() Thanks to total absence of bugs and frame drops, we were able to complete the adventure without ever having to complain about technical problems of any kind, unlike what happened recently with Telltale Games (if you don't know what we are talking about here is the offending review). A special applause to the direction of a couple of scenes (at the beginning and at the end of the "episode") that managed to warm our hearts and make us really appreciate the characters of this prequel. ![]() Once again the technical sector is excellent, which among a discreet polygonal modeling of the characters, one sensational color palette and a soundtrack, as always, flawless, proves to be among the best for this type of episodic production. Music for my earsĪ special applause for the direction of a couple of scenes As anticipated in the paragraph dedicated to the plot, i graffiti to create / find during this second episode (real playful reason for which to thoroughly explore the game areas) are definitely easy to find, depriving “Il Mondo Nuovo” of that replayability and “environmental puzzles” (if they can be called that) necessary to obtain the graffiti and its trophy / objective. The choices of dialogue are fundamental for the delineation of the personality and the relationships between the various characters (there are indeed a couple of particularly important crossroads), but Max's lack of time rewinding power makes the all extremely "poor" in terms of gameplay. Once again, from a playful point of view, the title does not offer anything particularly innovative. The longevity of "Il Mondo Nuovo" remains that of the previous episodes (about 3 hours to finish it all), but we report as the presence of particularly easy to find graffiti make the exploration shorter and less demanding than in the past.įrom a playful point of view, the title does not offer anything particularly innovative Having said this, it is inevitable to underline how the direction and the writing of the dialogues is always at very high levels, with a pathos and a drama that, while not reaching the original title, will certainly succeed in striking the player, whether it belongs to the first or second category of users mentioned above. If you are, like myself, interested in the relationship between Chloe and Rachel and in understanding that feeling that unites the two girls, you will find this second part of the adventure really interesting and able to warm your heart from the first to the last scene (especially in the second half of the game). If you are among those who play Before the Storm to learn about all those events that led to Max's adventures (the degradation of the Prescott family, the arrival of Mark Jefferson, the problems with Chloe's drug dealer) you may be disappointed by the narrative of "The New World", as, despite missing only one episode at the conclusion of this prequel, the developers seem to have taken all the calm possible to analyze the psychology of the characters within this narrative universe. The actual plot, except in a couple of situations, is however almost completely set aside, leaving ample room for characterization of the characters and the birth of that strong sentiment underlying the original chapter of Life is Strange. La plot di Life is Strange: Before the Storm Episode 2 - The New World continues the morning after the events of the previous "episode", with a huge fire arriving in Arcadia Bay and with the summons of the principal of Chloe and Rachel. Is this a bad choice ?! It depends on your point of view Version tested: PlayStation 4 #FruitoreTrama VS #FruitorePersonaggi Life is Strange: Before the Storm Episode 1 - Wake up Let's not waste any more time, therefore, and let's start immediately with the review of this passage chapter of the long-awaited prequel developed by Deck Nine Games and available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. This preamble was written because today, after the review of the first "episode", we will talk about Life is Strange: Before the Storm Episode 2 - The New World (to which for convenience, in this article, we will refer only as "The New World"). What are the real strengths of a story? The main plot? The realism with which the game world is represented? The relationships between the characters? These are all factors that must be taken into consideration, but they cannot necessarily all be contained within the same title. ![]() Analyzing a purely narrative videogame product can sometimes be more complex than one might think.
